FI SSD vs. JL W1

My friend has really no clue about car audio and I am trying to help him pick out a sub. We listened to a 13w1 at the local shop and he liked it alot. Would an 12 or 15 SSD outperform a 13W1? The SSD can obviously handle alot more power, but does the SQ of the SSD compare to the SQ of the w1?

yeah, the only reason id question it is because I've never heard anything of FI's, just been hearing the great reviews
