I am putting a 15 inch SSD in a ported box with about 3.3 cubes
I think ull be ok but 12 might be better

but he has 3.2 not including driver or port displacement.

With the space you have, you better go with the 12" BTL. You'll be disappointed otherwise.

1) a BTL in a sealed box will sound like shit

2) a 15" BTL in 3.2 cu ft b4 DD and Port, wil choke it and will not sound good at all

3) I suggest going with the 12, bc it will be closer to the right box size and you will be much happier

well im upgrading from 2 JL w3v2's and I really hope to blow it out of the water SPL wise. I want it to sound decent but all I really care about is loudness. Thats why I really want to go with a 15.

this is going in the well of my 94 camaro. Subthumps largest well enclosure is 3.2 cubes and I planned on adding an aeroport to that.

I'm really thinking of glassing my own box if possible. I just don't know how to measure the volume of a custom glassed box in order to determine correct port length. Also, I don't know how to join mdf and glass. (top of box would be MDF baffle, bottom glassed well)

You'll still have less than 2.5 cubic feet of airspace for the sub after sub and port displacement. You don't have enough room for the driver, plain and simple.

It's hard to say but I would think 5 cubic feet would be a pretty safe bet if you made a modestly sized port and inverted the subwoofer. Also, remember to take box density into account. 3/4 MDF eats up a good amount of airspace.

Although you really should work the other way around. Start with 3-4 cubic feet of airspace for the sub, add displacement, box density, and port displacement. Then you'll have a more appropriate figure.

The 12" woofer in a proper box will sound better and probably get louder than the 15" woofer in a box that is way too small for it.
