Fi Q vs 2 Kicker CVXs

I currently have 1 fi q 12" hooked up to a vfl 80.1 getting 1000 watts at 1 ohm. My bro has 2 alpine type rs hooked up to 1200 watts at 1 ohm. I can feel all kinds of air moving throughout his car and his mirror just drops when the bass hits. My bass sounds cleaner but there is no air flow throughout the car and mirror just shakes enough to notice. Idk why his sounds so much more powerful with only 200 watts more. Could it be the car he has a honda civic hatchback and i have a 97 grand prix se. Anyways i am considering getting 2 kicker cvxs since i heard kickers is known for spl and that is what i am now going for. Any suggestions?

Fi Q is aimed towards SQ. and yes, the difference in cars would be the reason as well as him having more cone area to move more air.

yes, because of it having double the cone area as your 1 12"

theyll also be louder as well. id run them on about 1500-2000 watts though.

ive got CVX subs, love em.. sound good, nice SPL and get fairly loud.. vids in sig (i think) but those are from a while ago havnt updated since i re-tuned everything.

more airmovment just means lower tuning. i had a car go up against me in competition this year and his would nearly do a hairtrick but only busted a 145.1 and i beat him with a 145.7 and mine didnt move any hair lol

Different vehicles, difference acoustics.. I did a CVX 15 for my cousin in a 4.5 cube box @ 33Hz in his Civic then did the same sub, same box on the same power in the womans Cobalt and hers isn't nearly as loud. I'd get another Q though before I would a CVX. They're (CVX's) built well, but don't take much to reach mechanical limits..

you got more cone area if you got 2 12s instead of one..

also, hatchback plays a big role in this.. normally suv's or hatchbacks tend to move a lot of air easier since we got open space in from the back to the front..

but that does not mean your car cant move any air

and yes, they move air.. not quite hairtrick.. not at least one that blows hair all over.. but i played that phil collins in the air tonight bass mix and had my g/f pop her head in my window and it was blowing a little..., nothing amazing.. however more than i expected.. but keep in mind their in the trunk of a sedan.. ill have another vid with a shirt or something maybe sometime to show you if you want
