Fi Q, the impression.

if it's anything like the mag, you will be pleasantly surprised with the accuracy in a ported box. i didn't think that i lost much SQ when i made the switch

Well, I enjoy sealed for the accuracy and ported for the ouput

a 4th order is basically the best of both worlds, and would be a fun project.

Ported is so 05

L0lz, I like the 4th order idea myself.

Same with my rl-p.

I have a ported enclosure I can slap it in, just gotta make some mods to the car first

Im very interested in the Fi Q 15" now after reading some threads about them. Just got a few questions, whats the peak handling of the Dual 2 15" Fi Q? The RMS is 1000, can it handle 1600watts rms? Whats the recommended ported box size in cu.ft. and hertz? Keep it around 3 cu.ft. I hope..

Thanks if you can help me.

Mine take 1300+ daily just fine. In a sealed enclosure, with unclipped power I'm sure it can take 1600w. You just have to know what you're doing.

FiCarAudio.com has all the infor, but I believe about 3.5 cubic ft is the reccomended vented enclosure.

Tuning of the box is really up to you, my personal preference would be anything from 28hz-32hz.

If I got the Dual 1 ohm 15" Fi Q, would that mean its automatically going to put out amp power at 1 ohm (aka: 1600 watts) bc in 2 ohms, my amp puts out 1100 watts.

My amp is the Hifonics Brutus BXi-1606D mono amplifier.

No

if you got the dual 1 and wired it in parallel it will yield a .5 ohm load, in series it will yield a 2 ohm load

If you want a 1 ohm load get a Dual 2, wired in parallel

the Q should sound warmer once the suspension starts to loosen up. I found it a bit peaky in the beginning.

it was a 12" i heard btw. super stiff suspension right out the box. After a while, the sound got noticeably warmer.

100% agree with that statement

Sounds similar to what I'm playing with right now, Mag 12 in 1.5 cu ft sealed off a Tantrum 1200.1. Very tight and accurate, output is good too... for some reason the low end isn't satisfying me at the moment though. I think it has something to do with the fact that the Tantrum is pwning my electrical system and I need to do the Big 3 fast.
