fi q or ssd?

Under 400, sure, but since you don't need anywhere near 1.8kW to have SQ I'd have to ignore that...
JL W6v2's stack up very well to these, IMO //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
well i want 1800w thats why i say SQL. JL is way too expensive for me.

yeah finding idmax's for a good price is a tall order
those ssds are probably ur best bet
yeah prolly.

you dont think my merlin could put out more than 1800w do you? dont wanna fry these things. when i bought the merlin, flakko said the 1500w rating was a typo and its actually 1800w. but now hes saying it IS 1500w but theyre underrated. i had a kx1200 that had a birthsheet of over 1400w and this merlin puts out much more than the kx. what do you think?

is this the amp

All you have to do to refrain from frying your subs if you're worried about it is set the gains with a DMM. That way you control the max power output of the amp at a certain point. So if you set the amp to put out 1500 rms at volume level 40 (arbitrary, Pioneer users generally set their gains at level 40/62) and you never turn the volume past 40, you will never see more than 1500 rms theoretically.

yeah that amp is rated at 1800 but at 100 hz and 1% harmonic distortion so maybe ull see it when u upgrade but i dont know it will be worth the downside

but back to the point those speakers should be fine on that amp and i believe they are underrated

wouldnt be a bad idea to add cooling and flat coil though

i always do use a DMM but i think im gonna invest in a cheap o-scope actually.

well if i added the BP option i might as well get Q's. would the flat wire option add significant power handleing?

The aluminum flatwound coils are going to leave you with a slightly peakier driver over what the round copper ones are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
