Fi Q going in my '87 Caprice

I've heard great things about these subs so far so I'm looking into 1 15" or 1 18". I have no expierence with car audio so it's a little hard. The trunk in my caprice is only big enough to have it facing upwards or downwards, and I'm thinking if I go 15 it will be ported and 18 sealed. How tall will the box have to be (lots of room for width and length) to appropriately fit either the 18" sealed or 15" ported.(or maybe you recommend otherwise?) What amp would you recommend? Hifonics seem to be good for the price? Also how does an 18 generally compare to 2 12s? I know these aren't the most intelligent questions but I had trouble finding the answers searching so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Forgot to ask, will my choice between dual 1 or dual 2 have any affect other than which amp?

Id port a 15, and give it around ~1200rms...

box for a 15 should be about 17" high. Port it and give it around 1200w rms. Get a dual-2 ohm woofer so that you can get an amp that does that power at 1 ohm.
