FI Q Comparable to the Audioque HD3?

Looking into the AQ HD3 12". I have a bxi 1500d and it would be wired @ 1ohm.

I want good spl, but with some SQ too. I was wondering if the HD3 would be comparable with the Q or even the BTL (thinking it's more of an SPL sub). I would port the box to a proper size.

So I want GOOD SPL but will retaining SQ as well, sort of like an SQL Driver, leaning a little more to the SPL side. What would the best driver out of these three that would fit my needs? It's also nice that the Q is sub $300. I am coming from an L7, which is wired at 2 ohms so it's not seeing much power. Would the Q be louder and sound better, considering they are both setup properly in proper ported boxes.

I've heard that the HD3s can be a little funky when playing around with different tunings. But that's second hand, as I haven't had experience with either woofer.

Hmm, this is something that will be taken into consideration.

I think what you are thinking of, is that they play a lot lower than tuning, meaning you have to tune 10+hz higher than what you want.

As in, where most 15" woofers likes an enclosure tuned anywhere from 28-32hz, an HD3 would probably like ~35hz. Which isn't that much different from your Kickers.

Aq 4 cubes tuned to 40hz and it will still destory lows...and are ya'll seriously comparing the fi q to a hd3 in spl?
