Not if you know what you're doing. Just be careful and make sure you know their limits.

Get an amp that will do a clean 1000 wattsa dn you're good get an amp that does a clean 1500 watts and you'll probably be good

Get a amp that does 1000 dirty watts and bye bye Fi.

If it is a clean 1200w RMS then I see no problem,just setthe gains carefully and don't use the bass boost.

What vc configuration did you get Dual 1 or Dual 2 ohm?

look into a PA or a hyfonics amp, they are decent and pretty cheap

How are they?

Pretty **** good so far. They are sealed in my trunk for a few weeks. They flex the front and rear glass. Broke my **** bowtie that covered my trunk lock...

I got them metered this weekend. I averaged 142 even over 30 seconds to music.

1000 dirty watts is 1000 watts. 1000 clean watts is 1000 watts. If a coil can dissipate 1000 clean watts, it can dissipate 1000 dirty watts.

....Now...

If you have a 1000 watt amp and you have it setup so it puts out 1000 clean watts you did a good job and your 1000 watt RMS coil will be fine. BUT if you take the same 1000 watt amp, crank the gain and the bass boost and throw it well above it's limits it will be throwing out more than 1000 watts and may be enough to fry the ever loving **** out of your precious 1000 watt RMS coil.

See the difference?

So 1200 rms should be fine then

As long as you're careful.

A rated 1200 watt amp would be good.
