FI Q 12" or Incriminator Flatlyne 12" ???

After alot of research and advice from people on this forum, I've narrowed it down to 2. The fi q 12 or the flatlyne 12. It's going in a ported box, probably tuned to 30-34. i dont really have any experience at all with these subs, so any input helps. I read that the fi q isn't as good for sq compared to the flatlyne. The prices would run around the same with matching amps. Considering that the fi q would be recieved 250 more watts rms, would it be a huge difference? I'm not really looking for a loud systerm you can hear me from 10 blocks away, i just want the music to sound clear and clean. But i'd also like it to be a little loud, feel a little something. As of right now, i seem to be leaning to the fi q 12, but any advice would help because i just want the cleanest sounding system.

The flatlyne has received rave reviews for IB use in competition sq installs. Obviously, a little different than what you're after.

If you are looking for distortion-free, loud subwoofer ability, the Q will work. If you are looking for a flat BL curve and a slightly more refined subwoofer, the IA will treat you well.

In essence, both will work in your application. Personally, I'd run a pair of the IA's IB and call it a day. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Of course you would.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd do a Fi Q. If you use this term, I'd call it a SQL woofer. I've owned a Fi Q, and I have BL's right now, there is a major difference between them.

The way I look at it is that the Fi Q is a sound quality SPL sub, if you get that.

i'm not too interested in it getting crazy mirror rattling until they fall off loud. If i were to get the ia flatlyne, would i b dissapointed in the output? It will be going in a ported box tuned low. Id like to feel a little bass, nothing crazy.

Don't be misled by some comments, when he says SQL, it means Sound Quality Loudness... This is a term used to describe an ideal 'daily" woofer, it sounds good and gets loud. The Flatlyne is sort of the same, except it was designed specifically to sound good, not to say it won't get loud, because it will, anything on 1000w is going to make some noise, it's just the flat lyne will sound better doing it.

honestly, unless you're competing, or are some SQ nerd, I'd do the Q.

lol ok, guess it's the q then. a question about tuning the box. if i tuned to say 30, would it take away from the higher freq.?
The lower you tune, the lower it will roll off, to answer your question, yes, if you tune to 30hz, you won't have as good a 50hz note as you would if you tuned to 36hz.

Ok. Now see i dont know what sounds are made at what herts. If i tned to 30, what kinda notes would i gain and what kind would i lose? Also, would it still sound boomy if i tuned at 30? im new to tuning boxes. My last ported box was purchased from best buy, im assuming they tuned high, cuz all i hurd was boom during every song lol

you're gonna probably just confuse yourself more than needed to get more in depth, just tune to what the company recommends and you'll be good.

Lol ok. What freq. Are guitar strings played on? And would multiple layers of sound deadening, dynamat, help with ratyling or is it pointless after thd first layer?
