Always thought of purchasing an fi but feel safe with kicker because ive heard it. purchasing this week so need final thoughts on which sub to go with. have about 5 to 6 cubes in trunk and have a jbl bp 1200.1.

fi bl 15 or kicker l7 15, which would sound nicer for low bass/rap music and what to tune to. thanks alot

screw kicker its a waste go FI youll be satisfied completely with it

not hating on kicker but ive used all of there equipment and most of it sub par compared to companies you never heard of and much better prices

so fi it is. you think it would sound nice with 4 cubes tuned to 35 hertz or so?

anything else i should use? would 0 gauge wire be required for this? or would 4 be ok

I'd do 32 if you want to be a little more musical, but 35 will be okay too.

You can get away with 4 gauge, but i'd again do 1/0 so have room to upgrade, etc later if need be.

And i'll just mention this since you sound like a noob (no offense), but make sure you set your gains right! Use a DMM and follow the DMM tutorial thread.

lol, no offense taken man. do alot of songs go as low as 32? ya if i get this sub im probably just going to take it to a shop and get everything right.

does it matter where the port is on the box if it is in a trunk? sub facing back

id recommend 32ish too. Face sub and port back, unless you can drop your back seat and fire it into the cabin, but to do this you would need to seal off your trunk from the cabin. FI all the way over kicker, no contest

White Girl gets down to 28hz, gona build a box soon just for that song //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you go to a shop that badmouths Fi, go somewhere else. They don't deserve to work on Fi subs.

Get the Fi BL and tune it to 32hz like everyone said. I'd fire the sub and port to the opening of the trunk. Get 1/0 for upgrading room because you will catch the upgrade bug and want to go louder. Also, I may even get a small 2nd AGM battery or upgrade the stock battery to an AGM battery just to be safe.
