FI BTL's SQ or all out SPL

And solo x owners say theirs sound really good, MT owners, etc. Generally speaking, an SPL oriented woofer has different design characteristics than a sub designed for optimum SQ. The SPL sub will get loud, but at a cost to SQ. Can you make one of these subs sound 'good' in the right environment? Yes, but I prefer my daily system to sound 'great'. If I rally need the couple extra db's a SPL woofer would gain over a solid SQL driver, Id just upsize or add SQL subs till I had the desired bass.

Surely there's an SQL driver out there that can give you the [amount] of bass you want, with much less concern about the loss in SQ. But to each their own, many people like running SPL oriented drivers for music. *shrug*

with all this being said...i like my music.. music'll. i own a btl15 loaded and comps sets a good deck and good imageing. what sub would give as much output the btl does but betta SQ??? lets try n not make this 2 technical //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I personally think the FullyLoaded BTL15 is quite a bit more musical than an MT15.

I've owned both, and had both of them in the EXACT same install... shortly after eachother.

The BTL is great for groundpounding, getting loud to music all day.

probably a TC5200 or a TC LMS 5400. those can do the trick but youre gonna pay out the *** for those. never had a chance to hear the LMS 5400 but from what alot of people are saying, its one of the best sounding SQL drivers you can buy for your car.

x2. BTLS are great for groundpounding but IMO not as a SQ woofer. And there some good subs out there that can get piss loud and still have great SQ. i.e SSX, IDMax,Mag,Compx2,lms-5400,etc.
