FI BTL sq?

Seing as it was built for pure SPL, I don't see why the videos wouldn't show what it was made for. I'm sure its pretty safe to say that the Q's have better SQ than the BTL, but thats all very subjective. Having never heard either of the two drivers in person.

The BTL is very musical, more musical than the MT and every bit as loud. My BTL15 got LOUD and LOW... sounded good doing it too.

If SQ is your goal, go elsewhere...at the output levels this driver is capable of, why are you even bothering?

Just because a driver is capable of extreme SPL, it cannot sound good doing it?

Isn't it fair to say that some SPL subs will sound better than other SPL subs?

I think the OP's question is very fair. I am wondering the same thing as I am considering a BTL. We all know they get retarded loud. We just want to know what people who have owned them think about how they sound.

well i dont always listen to my system at over 155db.....thats just when i want to get my bass "fix". So my goal wasnt just "insane loud"

90% of the time i listen to my system at normal levels and although im sure i would win no SQ contest, it still sounds pretty **** good. I have tried very hard to make my whole system sound good. Woofers are only part of the equation. If im just bumpin along at say a 140db level, nice and tame yet still "gittin' it", it sounds excellent. When it comes down to it, ALPINE 3612 said it best......."installs sound like shit, not subs" " Most of you guys would be VERY surprised if you heard me playing something like jazz at a normal level, even in the low 130's. I can tell you from 20 years of shaking the ground, probably while MOST of you guys were in baby seats in the car in front of me at the stoplight......the BTL is THE best woofer ive ever had and i love them....not sayin there wont be another but right now im %100 satisfied and highly recommend Fi regardless if you get the Q or the BTL your gettin a great product.
