I mailed an alternator yesterday, and i look at the receipt today, thinking i was charged for the 3 feet of bubblewrap, and i see they charged me 27 dollars to ship an 18 lb package to NC from Florida.. I call Fedex, remembering it cost me under 25 dollars to ship a mojo to Memphis (50 lbs), and they say i should've payed 13.** + a small service charge, which turned out to be not so much of a small charge from some places. Because its a more expensive area, i ended up paying double what it actually cost, and I was told it's "corporate" rates, by a franchise business.. Anyone have similar issues? Last time I used Fed-ex, i paid 35 dollars to ship to Canada before a vacation, only to come back to Fed-ex taking another 100 out of my overdrawn account, which i assume might have been bullshit at customs or something, but without any notificication at all.

PS. Thanks ScottS for sending me a shipping label so the stress was passed to you with fed-ex, although you never seem to have any problems with them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif. Lucky bastard.

They can't notify someone about the charges though, they just use my debit card?.. **** Fed-ex, actually i don't know who to be mad at, because the actual Fed-ex customer service PEOPLE were very helpful, agreed that they'd be pissed and it was a ripoff, and offered to try and find out if i was ripped off intentionally or if they have incredibly high mark-ups compared to the other local stores (which all happen to have more of a hood-location, so no suprise there).

fed-ex charging on ur card without permission seems a little fishy but idk how that actually works, what i stated above isnt just for fed-ex,it's for all shipping methods.maybe there was something in the small print you may have over looked

i've shipped things to canada before and the peeps specifically told me to mark it as a used gift so they wouldnt have to pay out the *** in custom charges.i definately wouldnt be giving any shipping company my card #'s.maybe investigate a little further and see if you can get some monies back.thats what i would do

I don't see how they charged your debit card without your permission. I had a situation with eghey and they had my info and they could have just as easily charged it, but they didn't. Strange.

Maybe I just was lucky, or it hasn't hit my bank yet, lol! Good luck!

To mail to Canada, they told me i had to make a international ground account, and had to keep a card on file. I did not realize they could just charge as they did, as plenty of companys have a habit of keeping a card on file.

if you would have shipped item by usps, you would'nt have had to give any #'s.simply mark as used gift and pay according to weight while your there.in my case,i shipped a big car part and it only cost me $13.00.how ever if the item was refused or couldnt be delivered, than usps would charge you to bring it back via return address
