To anyone who can afford to do so, I ask that you please consider donating a portion of your sales proceeds (even if it's $1) to any help efforts for those who lost their lives at Virginia Tech today. I am a VT student and will be donating a portion of all of my ebay and other sales to the funds that will be set up. If this gets deleted, I guess I understand why, but hopefully people can see past the "rules" of the forum here. Thank you for your consideration.

The donations would go the families of the victims

not to be a dick or anything, but wont the families get a lot of money from all of this? jw and I support the donation, but if I was a parent, I would be trying to sue the shit out of the university

The families will only get what is put into the memorial fund unless they decide to sue the university, which many of the parents have already said they would not do. From what I read on CNN, it is nearly impossible to sue the school anyway because they are protected by sovereign immunity since they are run by the state. Basically, since the state creates the laws, the state cannot be subject to them or something. Seems odd to me, but it sounds like any lawsuit would be very long and drawn out and I doubt any of the parents want to re-live that day over and over and over again in court.

For any of the VT students here (or anyone else that wants one), I am trying to get 1000 vinyl car stickers made in rememberance that I will be giving away for free....donations for them will be accepted, but all proceeds after covering my initial costs will be donated to the fund.
