Fat Furry Bees. Do they sting?

All my life Ive been led to believe that those massive, fat furry bees, the ones that are huge compared to a regular bee and usually all black, dont sting.

Today, someone who is allergic to bee told me that they do, but everyone else says they dont. I cant find any links on the net that show a PIC of the fat furry bee and give any info on it.

A link would settle this!!

They don't sting as readily as their smaller asshat cousins, but you piss off any bee and it'll sting you. bumblebees can sting over and over, as opposed to a singular sting by most other bees and hornets/wasps who have barbed stingers...first bee I was ever stung by...

there are two fat furry kinds that I have encountered as a professional woodsmen/logger. One they call a wood bee and one they call a news bee. Never stung by either. But maybe it has something to do with believing they don't sting and having no fear of them. Not sure.
