1985 transam. was my uncles and it was 14 or so years ago. the only thing i remember is it had a 400 performance tricked in it. pegged the speedometer. he was going to sell it to me when i turned 17, but my father said hell no.

yeah. you could be cruising at 40 and punch the gas and it would smoke 'em. got like 8 miles per gallon, but fast. actually scared me when i first drove it. had no idea that it had that under the hood. my uncle said it was the second fastest street legal car he had driven next to the hemicuda (drove a show car in a friends dealership window once i guess)

my 92 s-10 5 speed manual ~90-95 (speedometer only read upto 85 which was marked, and 90 wasn't marked). that was fun. that was almost once to twice a week for me almost 2 years ago.

then my dads 90 something ford contour i could only get it upto ~110-115 (speedo read upto 120mph) but ran out of road to keep pushing it. i effing loved that car. i locked up the motor after a failed e-brake slide attempt.

my current 98 ford escort i've gotten upto ~110mph (kilpatrick turnpike just out of tulsa south to oklahoma city) and then i backed off, looked up just in time to see a cop ~ 1/4 mile back switch lanes, flip his lights, then turn them off and pace me til he pulled off to help some stranded motorists. i was hella lucky. (this was last year as well).

oh and btw, all cars were stock.

i was riding in my uncle's 1 ton dually and he had gotten it upto ~120 or so (pegged the speedo) on some backroad in midwest city one night. that was one of the scariest moments of my life. oh and he's a mechanic so he had a new computer chip, and new air filter put in.

i got to 120mph in my eclipse going down hill at the last lil bit then backed off there was a sharp corner ahead, 115 on a strightaway that seemed to take days then i ran outta road. I drove my uncles viper and hit 137 if i had more control woulda gone faster, but there was sand on teh road. Geez... I have done 120 (and climbing) in my Stang a few weeks ago, but then backed off. Though it was nice and stable on an open freeway, thoughts of my 18-month-old baby starting going through my head. Decided the thrill of pushing it wasn't worth orphaning him.

Still though, when I stopped at a light on the way home... I swear the car sounded happy as I sat there listening to it idle at the light.
