Fastenal

so...everyone that sells any piece of equipment on ca.com for a profit.
MUST report it or be audited by the IRS

LMAO!!!!!
Yes, everyone, even dependents file a claim, but they file under their parents, my gf is a dependent, her parents filed for her, the person who is over the dependent is completely capable of filing for the dependent, there is a chance, that his parents do this for him so he doesn't have to deal with it, but likely, since they have a business, they send it to their accountant to do it for them.

Secondly, by law, technically, selling things online is a source of income, so technically i believe that anyone on here who sells and does not report it on their taxes, is breaking the law. However there may be some way of getting around it because they are selling it to a "friend" and it's not a business...that all gets quite technical.

Furthermore, it is, like I said earlier, silly that you would call your "friends" at the IRS, who are probably no more than data entry college drop outs or they are filing aids to someone important, to "go after him" because he makes 100k a year in cash, he's a dependent, and he works for dad's business, is not even worth the money or man hours spent on "the case" that doesn't even exist.

Drop it, find somewhere else to whip your utility belt out.

To the OP - I apologize if I am aiding to the thread jacking-ness of your thread, I think you got a pretty good answer to your question so I hope you aren't upset.

I'm in college...enough said.
This job kinda fell into my lap, I never even inquired about it.

I have a 3.3 GPA, 3.9 in my major. I'm sure I will be getting a "decent paying job" drug test or not. As for "that stuff" I'm not getting into the benefits/drawbacks of smoking weed, but your statement is basically rediculous.
a guy I worked with smoked almost every weekend and thougt he had if figured out to. They basically tell you "you are going in next week so be ready"

but about a year ago he was in the field and fell over some piping, the first thing they did was drug test him. Instant firing and he had to pay his own medical bills.

btw I had a 4.0 GPA in my college days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

They do drug test, They also do a pretty extensive background check including your driving record. Overall a good company to work for though....
Thank you. That is the information I was looking for. Background Check and driving record, I was aware of, and neither of those are going to be a problem.

I'll be starting off in sales...which sucks. But whatever...chance for advancement is extreamely quick.

Of course the comp will not pay if you get hurt.. But what happens if you happen to be delivering parts and run a redlight and kill someone? Surely there are consiquences if you have a little thc in your piss..

again...technically I'm not employeed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
and the item has had taxes paid on it...when its first purchased. You don't pay taxes on it again

looks like the IRS took it more seriously than he thought they would......(sorry for bumping this old stuff, I just got such a kick out of it)

Anyone here worked for Fastenal?
I have a job offer on the table after I graduate and wanted to know a little bit more information about them.

Thanks.
I worked as a sales/delivery driver and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the company. Had some really big accounts such as 3M and a lot of very busy fabricating factories that really did well in production. So, the potential is there to make a lot of money,if your willing to work hard. I also really enjoyed going to headquarters in Winona, Minnesota for paid training for a week. Pretty awesome factory to see how everything is made! If you get that chance to go, go you will have a fun time, BTW it is a college town so there is a good amount of women there as well.
