OK... I went home Friday night to see some of my friends and go on the annual opening-day deerhunt with my dad and our crew.. Was planning on coming back to my college town (1hour 15 minute drive) Saturday evening.. Well I saw my ex that I still have feelings for and we decided to hang out once she got off work.. I was planning on leaving about 12 so I could get home in time and get some sleep to hunt in the morning.. Well I ended up not leaving her till 1:15... She begged me to stay and was afraid Id fall asleep on the way home or something.. But my dumbass really wanted to go hunting so I told her no..

Well the 1 hour and 15 minute drive wasnt toobad.. Kept my system up loud and drank some Starbucks Espresso from the gas station. .Got home at 2:30 and took my friends advice and decided to stay awake rather than go asleep.. I dozed off a few times but never really went to sleep.. Bout 4:45 got my hunting clothes on and loaded my Blazer..

Its a 12 minute drive to where I hunt.. Made it fine on the 4-lane and everything.. Was drinking me some coffee.. Get to the gravel road and I realized that I had dozed off.. It kinda scared me, but I was like "you puss, be a man".. Well when I was about 150 yards from the gated road I was going to walk down I dozed off again.. Next thing I know ... WHAM WHAMP WHOOOOOOOOOMP..

I ran off the fkn gravel road into a big *** mudhole/ditch.. My blazer was tilted at a 55degree angle or so with the drivers side againts the side of the ditch.. My coffee went all over me, shit everywhere.. But i realized my system was still playing so that was good.. I cilimb out the passenger door and realized I'm ****ed.. Didn't look like much damage but mud was all the way up to my fender wells..

Called my bro and he was pissed cause he had to miss a morning hunt.. Got in touch with a wrecker.. Ended up costing me $76 to get it pulled out.. Dam wrecker had trouble getting it out.. Took an hour...

My bumper was fudged up, but I popped it back out.. Fog lights aint exactly straight.. Some scrapes/ dent at the very lowest body part on the drivers side.. Not too bad damage.. I was lucky.. Damage is barely noticeable..

I'm just thankful I didnt run into a tree... I learned a lesson though, thats for sure.. That was the most scared I have been in as long as I can remember.. My first accident ever.. I still get shaken up thinking about it..

I have thanked God like 20 times already today, becuase it could have been so much worse...

Happened to me before, went to the beach and had a bonfire with some friends, left at like 12:30 and was really tired. I drove on the freeway without my headlights on for 30 mins and was wondering why everyone kept flashing their highbeams behind me. Than started to doze off and almost rammed the car in front of me. Good thing I decided to pull over and take a 1 hour nap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

i've dozed off a couple times... all during the same night lol... i brushed a few curbs, and left my lane a few times, but nobody was on the road, so no biggy...

not sleeping for 40 or so hours will do that to ya //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Been there done that. I dont care if I have to be somewere now, if im sleepy, no way im driving.

Once I came to, I found myself speeding towards the split on the freeway offramp. I yanked the car onto the offramp just barley in time. That one shook me up a bit.

The one that scared me the most though was when I was headed back from a casino. My grandfather & father were both inside the car, I was driving. The last street I remember was 91st, I came to around 64th street which was a good 7 or more stop lights. I dont know wth happend or how I drove that far, I looked over at my father & he didnt even know I checked out for a few min.

Needless to say I learned my lesson, if your even a tad sleepy dont drive, ever. The bass just makes you sleepier when your that out of it, so does the A/C.

I can't tell you how many times I've just all of a sudden "came to" and noticed I somehow skipped 40 + min. of driving lol.If I'm close enough I'll try to bear it, but if I still have a while to go I'll stop at a gas station, get some snacks and a drink, take a piss and continue.

Falling asleep at the wheel is scary crap. My dad almost did the same thing during our hunting trip this year. We both left after our work/classes and drove for the entire night. The next evening we were driving back from a long day of hiking up mt mofo and we both fell asleep. We both woke up when his yota went off the road and into a fairly deep ditch. Nobody got hurt cause were driving slow, but it scared the crap out of both of us.

I haven't driven tired since then. Its just not worth it.
