check out fiberglassforums. alot of useful info over there. Was reading about a material called "ponte" that is supposed to be really good for stretching.
What I always do is start with nylon or pantyhose, get the right shape, then lay over with mat, sand out any bubbles, repeat until I have 4-7 layers of the fiberglass mat over the nylon, bondo it up and sand it smooth. Strong as heck.
