fabric for fiber glassing / textured paint

I see alot of guys using felt for the fabric base, I came across some nylon that would stretch to fit nicely, just wondering if it would soak up and hold the resin. anyone use it before?

Also, What is a nice finishing paint that will give a nice textured look?

How textured of a look do you want? Rustoleum makes a great "stone" paint in various colors. Covers extremely well, but is about 10$ a can and doesn't cover too much area.

as far as texture you can use a sponge to get a textured appearance...there are many patterns in diffrent sponges....

I would use fleece or Ponte(Stuff they make girls smiw suit out of). Fleece will soak up alot of resin and Ponte wil stretch really well.

I've used pantyhose in all my boxes. At least for a base layer to get the shape right.

fleece is what most people use in fiberglassing...I just told him what it was like...

I use tshirts and it works ok, i just mix the glass a little hot and put on two coats then start in

what you want is SEM spray, its a texture mix that comes out looking like stock panels, really nice when trying to match stuff in a car
