Women drivers and my 1978 Chrysler New Yorker:
I lived in Utah for a while in the 1990's and had a 1978 NY for a while. The first hit was the worst as a rookie female bus driver clocked out the left front fender while it was parked. I had the car properly parked too. The transit company paid me.
Then a bit later I get up one morning and notice my car looks "crooked". It's a really snowy morning and I'm thinking perhaps it was an optical illusion. I go out to shovel the snow and it's "drats" time as the NY was knocked into the overly deep drainage area. The front door was tweaked and I had to go get a crowbar to straighten that mess out. Figure it's 50/50 for men/women but this car did attract females...all in the wrong way...LOL!
Springtime comes and the hits keep coming too! I'm stopped at a stop sign when BUMP/BANG, a college coed has ran into the back of my nearly 5000 pound hunk of iron on 4 wheels. A tail light is mildly knocked out of alignment. It's the 3rd hit the NY has taken in a space of 6 months.
I sell the car.
Then I buy a nice little economical FWD K-car. It goes well in snow, is comfortable and looks good, that is it looks good until it gets run into by a young lady in a parking lot while it sits there minding it's own business. I collect $300, pass go and call it a day.
So I take this K-car to Louisiana and a lady in an El Camino decides that I'm not on the road as she pulls out of a parking lot right into me, front end first, as I'm stopped with traffic on a main road in Hammond LA.
That car wound up being given to my sister-in-law. Let it get really destroyed...LOL!
I come back to Oregon and have a 1984 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. While stopped for a left turn, a lady rear ends me. Another lady sees this happens and gets really mad as well as on my side but that made the other lady cry. I let the aggressive lady go and then made the crying lady feel better since all she did was mildly tweak a tail light. It's a good thing I drive BIG cars...LOL!
That's my last story of females running into my cars but my brother-in-law got the worst of it when an 80-something old lady ran a red light, which resulted in her running into my brother-in-law's just acquired (3 days) Chevy pickup that was very nice and clean. He wound up getting away without an injury thankfully and the insurance paid off well so he got a killer deal on a slightly newer Chevy 4x4 pickup to come out ahead but what a price to pay for all of that.
Let 'em vote but don't let 'em drive...LOL!
