4800 megs worth of space... 2600 songs... Less than 2 megs per song average... Either you listen to old school punk where the songs are 1:15 long or you got some low quality rips on your pod.

I gotz 3700 songs here on my puter and they gobble up 90G+. Almost all of my rips are lossless which turns out to be overkill because the iPod is the weak link in the system (it's hooked up in my car), not the compression.

yes the face could use a good buffing, but it does not hinder seeing it at all.
