External or internal?

What is the problem with the 3 alt set up.

Is it not charging / kicking out please explain.

What reason do you have in mind to run one external?

You can get alot more equal power from 3 than one higher and adjustable. If you tie them into gether you may still have an issue when turning up the voltage on the one. This voltage will be stronger and charge harder but it will cause the other internally regulated alts to back off in current. 3 at 15.5v would charge up to 12 batteries no problem.

If you do a 16v keep in mind the batteries are 16.9v and have to charge @ 18.9v.

You will have more current to your amps but they might not like the charge rate.

Also you will have more power for burps but the storage from the higher voltage batteries will not last as long. I wouldn't do 16v for daily , but comp only is nice.

This is my 3rd alternator from Iraggi..not that im running 3 alternators..my car is a 97 nissan maxima i just thought that i would have better controll over the charging if i would be in charge of it..

The only thing you will have control over is the voltage output, not the current. Current is determined by the windings in the alternator and the speed at which it is rotating (Engine RPM's)

Get the internal regulator and don't play with it. No offense, but if you have to ask this question, I don't think you're capable of using an external regulator.
