WD is a solid choice, although keep in mind that if you pack it around, you will likely break the plastic chassis at some point. Also, it can get somewhat noisy due to the amount of venthilation (at least it doesn't overheat). Only USB connection on the Essential Edition, which isn't a big deal to most people, but if you plan on using it a lot or plan on doing complete backups on a regular basis, you may want to opt for one that has eSATA or Gb LAN connection, assuming your computer (and network, in the case of the Gb LAN) has the necessary inputs as they're substantially quicker at transferring data than USB 2.0.
