Extended Cab system?

My friend wants me to help him with his system and he told me he wants an L7 12". This will be going in a 99 F-150 under the seats. He doesnt want to take out his seats and so he just wants a ported box underneath the seats. Do you think its possible to build a box big enough for a 12" L7 ported under the seats. Hopefully someone with this or close combo will chime in. I also told him that he could get a Viper 1200.1 and get the DVC 4ohm sub and then he could give it 1200 watts at 2 ohms b/c i know the viper isnt 1 ohm stable. Think this will work out fine and everything? Do you think he should go with a 10" for more room or what? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

my mexican buddy has a 97 ext cab.. he had 2x12 sealed in there before.. and has 4x10 now sealed in there, the 12's stuck out from under the seat about 2 inches, the 10's fit perfect under there and get .65 cubes each.. which is what they are recommended.

you could probably do an L7 10 ported under there, or an L7 12 sealed, but the 10 would sound better.

it's a ***** getting that box out from under there though, and it made it easier to remove the rear seat and put the box in then put the real seat back.

First things first. More then likely he will not have the room for a 12" ported under the seat. He is looking around 1.2-1.3cu.ft. under there. If he is dead set on ported he will need to take out the seat or fold it up.

Second, the viper 1200.1 IS 1ohm stable. I have owned one. They are rated at 1200@1ohm. You WILL need a dual 2ohm sub to get a final 1ohm load.

Last, if he is strickly wanting SPL a 12" would yeild a decent amount of it. If he wants it to sound pretty good with a good amound of bump a 10" ported would definatly fit under there.
