explain what y adapters do please???

Split the signal.

Usually used if your h/u doesnt have a rear preout or your amp doesnt have pass through rca's and you are hooking up 2 or more amps off the same signal. Also if you are using a 2ch amplifier and have a dvc subwoofer hooked with 1 Vc per channel and want the same signal.

They come in either 2 male, 1 female or 1 male and 2 female.

**** lol im still confused please explain in lamest terms ...like is it supposed to give you another set of preamps or somthing..lol please explain

yes. you can hook up 2 amps to one headunit, if the first amp you hooked up doesnt have little holes you hook up rca's into to go into the other amp. if it does, just run the rcas from one amp to another, then you dont need the y splitters.

with the alpine headunit your getting..it has 3 sets of preouts. your fine.

so another words use the input jacks on the sub's amp and connect it to the headunit and run the speakers amp's output jack and connect to the sub's amp input jack right?

left = amp with 2 sets of preouts, run set of rcas from one amp to the other.

right = amp is 1 set of preouts, need y splitter
