OK second post... but I needed to focus the problem.

My System in a Honda Accord 2004:

Stock HU

Navone 4 Channel LOC

Audio Control EQL

JL e6450 Six Channel Amp

Focal Polyglass components Front

Focal polyglass components Rear (except I dont use the tweeter in the back)

10" Diamond Audio Sub (Sealed)

I want SQ only not to rumble aroud town, just a nice quiet RICH and DETAILED SOUND, CLARITY is VERY important.

My Current State:

Well the actual system sounds "nice" the stock HU doesn't seem to be doing a bad job except for a very quiet noise floor that is present in quiet parts of the music (yes all gain calibrations have been made HU & AMP clip at the same time), my system is lacking clarity and staging(not much tough), I actually connected my IPOD directly to my EQL (bypassing HU) and the sound seems a bit "off" compared to the stock HU it seems as if the HU was calibrated for the acoustics of my car, I noticed some cancellation and lack of frecuencies using the ipod only.

The car is not dynamated or anything but the front and rear speaker are very well sealed for a nice midbass response.

My Current Issues:

1.When an expert tweaked my EQL it didn't seemed to make a lot of difference, later that day when the system was playing, I defeated the EQL and I couldn't notice a difference in sound... Is it really worth it to keep the EQL or should I get a better equalizer/processor?

2.I cant replace the stock HU and dont want to, add another HU is too much hassle... So is there a procesor that will have some of the futures offered in the best aftermarket headunits, which one is it?

3.LOC, I currently have a Navone Four-Channel LOC, could I have better results using a LC6 from audiocontrol, If so what results can I expect...

4.Subwoofer, The sub seems to lose a lot of fidelity because of being in the big trunk, is there any way to make the subwoofer more in "touch" with the passenger cabin? How?

5.Speaker and AMP, I know these are not top-of-the-line... I chose this entry level system because I was originally running everything from the stock HU, I could change the front speakers to Utopia's or the amp to another better brand... but the question is... will that help me on my quest for a much better sound system? It has to be at least something that I can accept for what I just paid for, not just a wimsy little difference. So what would you replace in my system?

Sorry for the long post, its just that I am the kind of people that can't leave something until it's finished and I have not been completely satisfied with my system, so I want to finish it right away.

Thanx for all your views and replys!

I am an expert. I know you don't want to hear this, but you have to eventually replace the head unit, or add one to that space under the stock head unit. You can try to spend a lot of time and energy on other things to try to compensate, but there's no bigger improvement to be gained than to get a good head unit. Unfortunately, you will never be completely satisfied until you do.

Also, the JL amp is really good. You won't see much, if any, difference if you replace it.

Thanx for your responses.... JL cleansweep is not an option for me because I am not sure that flattening the frecuencies is what I need. So then the HU will make that BIG of a difference??? are you sure? Why? any other solutions to the problem welcome!

Sounds like you have a pretty good setup. Is there anything that you're not happy with, or feel that is lacking?

Seems to me that the only thing you're lacking is a good head unit. You will see a noticeable difference with a good head unit with proper time allignment, like one of the higher end Alpine units. Time allignment does wonders to the staging. I don't know how big of a difference it will make for you, but there's nothing that will make a bigger difference. If you're happy with your current system, then just leave it alone and don't waste your time on these things.

Thanx for all your responses, the PXA-H701 seems a bit like overkill but I will look further into it... It seems that theres is no way out only getting a nice headunit, and I really dont want to mess my "stealth" install... but any other replys welcome!

Worked wonders for me....
