Experience with the 3" vc 6.5" woofers from lanzar, soundstream, planet aud etc?

I have a pair of Lanzar's Opti65 woofers.

There are several versions of it out there.

Soundstream rf60c

Planet Audio BB65pro

Almani's A7's

It seems to have originated with Morel's sw 6 supremo which are $1750 at woofers etc.

Anyway - I'm sure the knock off mfg found plenty of ways to cut corners.

I was working with my Opti's today an noticed an unusually weak magnet.

My only testing method was touching it w/a piece of metal and feeling the amt of force req'd to break it free, but it felt significantly weaker than the stock ford 5x7's I just took out.

Anyone else running one of these? Any thoughts on them?

RF60C are awesome. I love mine. The prices have droped, but still well worth the original MSRP of $300.

A Russian web site formally tested them. They measured frequency response, distortion, t/s parameters, etc. The results were decent but not spectacular. Here is a link:

Maybe you can translated it with google. But the bottom line is that they're decent speakers if you send a lot of power to them.

Pros: Good tweeter frequency response off axis, good bass capability, good power handling.

Cons: Increased distortion in bass region, poor sensitivity.

If you ask me, so far this looks better than the results for the other speakers with bigger mids, such as the Massive Audio Ck6III and RK6. Both reportedly have harsh tweeter sound.

massive audio harsh tweeters were because of the crossover wich they just fixed
