250a with EA $300

270a with MM $399 This is Straight from MM....... I have a 270 amp late model conversion unit for $399. It does 165 amps by 800 rpm engine speed!!. We build it with a custom 70 amp diode rectifier in order to live at that amperage level. The 4G unit that is used on those vehicles is very limited in how much current you can produce before heat becomes a problem, so we convert it to a much more durable 6G unit.

I honestly dont know about EAs 250 amp, but i haven't met anyone with good luck with their 300 amp units. Not bad units, just such low amperage at idle for daily. I have dealt with Matt at Mechman and like i said above, i'm going with him definitely.

Edit: My buddy also just received a Mechman rhino series alt for his H2, can't wait to hook it up. DC and Mechman seem to be the 2 best alternator brands at the moment.

How much did you pay for yours? I believe for us it'd be 450 or 550 for a DC alt. Very nice guys, just too expensive for me at the moment. But i'll keep myself out of this, since this isnt my thread, i'm just in it because we could use the same alternator //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif. It should be between Mechman and DC though, if you can swing the DC alt. Smaller one is 450, bigger one is 550. Smaller does more at idle i believe.

Ouch...mine is a 225A and 170A at idle I believe...and I only paid 389$

I did have to wait like 2 months for it so Rob beefed it up for me, was only supposed to be like 200A I think...

Yeah, I won't argue that, my alt is a beast. Bolted right up to the factory hardware.

well i am looking for the best warranty ...and best idle output......i will be ordering Feb.3rd just doing some research one some of these companys before the day comes...

looking for around a 250amp... i want the best bang for the buck

i heard good things about mechman. so so on EA. Dc is great but shipping times aren't.

don't skimp on your electrical

As long as Iraggi isn't on your list I think you are doing OK!

I have had great results with my O.G. 300A alt on the caddy and the O.G. 240~ I had on the Astro...
