from my experiance is the only real thing wrong with the xplode amps is reliability. the new ones are cea compliant, so they really put out what they say. i would just worry about the amp going out on you. i have seen at least 20 or so sony amps just quit after a year or so, for no apparent reason. not ran hard, clipped, or anything, just all of a sudden dont turn on.

Brother owns an xplod amp to push his d3. Overheats after about 20 minutes of playing and gives out crappy sound. Their amps are very terrible or atleast the few I've come encounter with. My brothers has just been the most recent.

I luckily dont have a sony amp but i can tell you the subs **** for sure.

this just reminds me of today, these kids needed an install kit for a 2004 ram, and came up to me holding a wiring kit...it was a raptor 10gauge wire kit...i asked them what size amp and he said "its 1000 watts rms" i told him i wouldnt reccomend that, he told me it will work no matter what.

i hit the tender key, and said a short prayer for their soul

omg....just because sony is good @ making other electronix like tv's and playstation and other b.s. like that, some people think that all of their products are GOD! Sony lacks REAL REAL hard in the "car audio business"! their ca products are krap.....the way i see it, is basically...almost EVERYTHING mainstream, except for kicker and some of MTX, IS PURE TRASH!

you forgot rf, alpine, and pioneer....... alpine makes solid amps and subs. Pioneer makes good subs as well.......... And rockford..... well, let's not go there

x2... all my friends' sony amps just die on them out of the blue after a year or so of use.

Im not sure about anyone else but reliability is one of the most important factors for me when buying an amp.

I have all sony and I regret my purchase. The HU is ok (for sale btw), I havent had any problem with the amp...yet. quality of everything is meh. ive heard way worse...(audiobahn, pyle)

but i hate threads like this. I understand where your coming from, but just let people buy what they want. If they think its good then let them be happy.

yeah we took an ES amp out of a tahoe.... it was actually very sturdy.
