Everyone I work with flames Alpine head Units... What are you guys oppinions?

i like the way alpines look, and i think their subwoofer controls are nice.

i'm using the alpine cdm-7871. had it for 2 years now and i can't say enough about it. IMO its very user friendly, cd's never skip but they occasionally stop playing for a brief second whenever my car falls into one of the many sinkholes in our roads.

I have only heard good things about Alpine. The only thing that can be said is that they might be a little further behind Pioneer and Kenwood as far as features are concerned. But then again Alpine has superior quality. I am looking to buy one myself. Does anyone know when they are going to release the 2005 models? Or at least information and features for the 05s.

They should be out by Spring ... IIRC, Best Buy is picking up the line at the end of January, maybe early-mid February.

Look forward to Crutchfield blowing out the old models.

Alpine makes very sweet looking decks IMO which is only surpassed by the quality of the decks they make.

i think the best compliment anyone can convey to a brand is to be a repeat buyer and very soon i will be buying my 3rd alpine deck---and if you knew me you would understand how much praise that is.

I love Alpine

I started with a 7930 back in the day then upgraded to a 7909, Later I got into the 7845 and 7949...been some of the best HU's I have ever owned. However I will say that IMHO the best ones were the last style (ie-'00-01' 7840-7949) they had the best styling (no ghey flashiness) best options and offered a great price

I've used/installed four different models of Alpines, and have had the chance to play with several more...never had a problem with any of them.

Only Alpine I've ever loved was the cda 7949 with its non clipping preouts and copper plated chasis- and sadly took a dump after 1 month past warranty, face was useless

I think my Alpines dominated over Pioneer and especially over Kenwood, not even a close comparison. ALso look at Circuit City who wont be carrying Alpine anymore, and they will be liquidating.

I have the CDA-9825 and its the second time i bought it. First time it got jacked. I will alwas be buying alpine HUs. I might upgrade to an Eclipse because of what ive heard of them but thats the only brand.

they are all good H/U's its just more of a personal opinion and what you like...

Must have had a lemon, my first 7949 was used from beginning of 00-03, sold it and then had no system for awhile. Then bought another 7949 which was slightly used from beginning of 04 until about 2 weeks ago when I sold it. My 9835 should be here friday, which makes it my 5th alpine that I have owned... Looked at other brands but I have never had a single issue with alpine, I love the looks and the build quality on the older units was amazing.. Will do a full review when my 9835 gets here.. The deck I am really eyeballing though is the 7998... that is more my style.. no built in amp and pure function... If kenwood kept up it's quality as it had in 99-01 then I would also consider them as well... the new ones are just ghetto to me.
