I'm gonna ask what kinda amp should be purchased to power 1 e12k.44. I see they can handle 500 watts RMS, but I've heard those things can take more. Right now my friend wants to get that sub which I think will be an awesome one for the money, but we're open for any opinions you got on the eD K series subs.

He drives a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo and right now I'm thinkin we will build a beefy sealed box for the thing unless someone recommends ported for this application. The amp we were thinkin about getting now is the JBL 600.1 mono amp, should that supply decent power? My friend already has a system now and its gettin upgraded this time around so all he needs is box/sub/amp and he has 300$+ for it. I'm basically just considering the sub and amp in the 300$ and the box will just be extra.

What do you think about our proposal so far?

Edit: my friend is really hopin to get 2 12's.. so the subs themselves will have to cost less than 135 a piece, so I said just get 2 e12kx's then. what do you guys think about that? would it pound harder? what how many watts should the amp be pushin w/ 2 of those subs?

dont go with too big of a sealed box, stay around 2cubes... amp i will recondmend the profile cl-600m 450watts @2ohms, that what im runnin and its a great match

i just noticed on etronics the description for wattage ratings on that amp were as follows

RMS Output Power @ 4 Ohm: 200W x 2

RMS Output Power @ 2 Ohm: 300W x 2

Bridged RMS Power @ 4 Ohm: 600W x 2

the bridged is a typo correct? its 600x1, gotta be

i just wanted to double check. right now we gonna get 2 of the e12k.44 (4ohm dvc), then wire them to a 4 ohm load and bridge the amp and send the power to them. the amp will be $150 though, do you think its the best for the money? I know it'll be loud, I just wanna know how reliable those amps are, does it heat up much on urs?

thanks again

Also, I see you mentioned that they now have a flat cone. When looking at the pics I couldn't tell how flat it actually was.. is it completely flat from edge to edge or is it at least a little concave? Also how is SQ on that thing? I'm sure it'll get pretty dang loud, but I wanna know how deep it hits and all, that's my main concern about these subs.

Thanks
