Myspace has allowed me to find some old friends from high school who I had lost touch with many years ago. I do get annoyed by the people on there who just try to compile as large a friends list as possible. Those people need to get a life. All of my "friends" are actually my real-life friends, most of whom I don't see very often but am able to keep touch with easily through bulletins and messages.

I too dream of the day when people use Myspace as it should be used. It should be a crime for people to abuse this wonderful medium in the manner you have described.
