estimate on dbs to expext

I have a 2005 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. It has hardely any room to fit any type of decent woofer under the rear seat so I had to get a shop to custom make a box for me. The box will start inbetween the rear seat and the center console and then the rest of the box will flow under the rear seat to get the correct air space. The sub will also be downfiring. I have a 12w6v2 powered by a 500/1v2.

I have searched for people on this board that have 12w6's but I didnt see anyone actually post their score. I have seen people claim to get anywhere from 130-142db. I just want to know so I can get mine metered to make sure the shop did a good job before I fork the money.

im not saying I will break 140...When I did a search I had people claiming they hit 130-142 with their 12w6...Im asking what to expect so I know wether or not they built the box correctly. I know some shops will actually build a custom box to the right air space but others will just build to make it fit.

Yea I thought 140+ was going to be nearly impossible. I forget who but someone on this board they said their friend did a 142 with a 12w6 in a sebring off the same amp. So again, I wasnt expecting 140+ just going by numbers that the CA search engine pulled up.

you're forgetting something....

you have to admit the equalizers do seem to make 1 watt sound like 2 (1000 watts from a jl sounds way louder than 1000 from an alpine or rockford or many other brands)

So you're running a sealed 12 off of 500 watts. Who cares what it meters at..if it sounds good, just be happy. A TL will only disappoint you if you meter that setup.
