EQ+HU=necessary?

So I have keen ears, I play lots of music, with that said my new budget build is geared towards SQL completely.

If I buy a cheap HU that is suitable for my build, I am assuming it's EQ abilities are not going to be stellar, therefore I am curious is it better to buy a 'more expensive' HU or to buy cheap and get an EQ as well?

Best bang for your buck is my motto!

Thanks

That HU actually looks and sounds fantastic! The price is the only thing that is turning me off..of course.

Any other slightly cheaper options, or information that will completely sway me(my wife) into getting(allowing) this?

Thanks

A used Pioneer PRS 880 or 800....same features as the new 80PRS but some of them had ground loop issues that can be fixed by grounding the RCAs
How does one fix this grounding issue?

*edit*

Is THIS the one with the grounding issue? Because regardless, that price isn't as bad as I thought.

That's the new one without tha issues
Awesome, thanks.

I love the looks of it!

One question though, it specifies that it has 3-5v preouts, does this mean 3-pairs I assuming? It's poorly worded on Pioneer's site.
