epicenter help

I have a 2005 monte carlo with one 15 inch L7 kicker on a sealed box hooked up with a 1800 watt rockford fosgate...& I bought a inexpensive epicenter..I love how it hits with not so bassy music but with most rap bassy music it sounds like its forced & does not sound clear at all..in order for it to sould clear I have to turn the epicenter control all the way down...

my question it do I need a better epicenter???...do I need a ported box???...is it because I have a stock stereo??

your first problem is running an L7 sealed. build or buy a simple ported box and prepare to be amazed at how much more output the sub has.

It sounds like that because it's a bass restoration device. It's supposed to add bass where there is none, not add more to already bass heavy music. Just turn it off when listening to rap. And, as previously mentioned, put it in a ported box. L7's were never meant to be sealed. Good Luck!
