Ensolite recommended?

I've been reading on many different sites that getting ensolite on top of raammat is a good idea. What does this closed-cell foam do anyways? Will I need it if I purchased two rolls of raammat?

Is there anywhere that I can get that kind of stuff for a lot cheaper? 70 bucks for 6 yards is a bit pricey and I only have a small fraction of money left after buying my system.

What is this spray stuff they sell as well?

Go to secondskin's website and read up on their different products, they give a loose idea what each product is meant to do.

The ensolite will be better at blocking/absorbing road noise that is trying to enter the cabin than is the raamat. The ensolite should be installed strategically, like over wheelwells and such.

Ah so it is basically for anything coming from the outside. Will the ensolite affect the vibrations from the subs at all?

If not, road noise isn't really a big deal to me.

Does raammat need anything to help it stick to the walls of the car better?

yes, the spray thing that they sells //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

haha that is good!

in your opinion... is the ensolite worth it?

it says to completely deaden a car, it would be 2 rolls of matting, 6 yards of ensolite, and 3 cans of adhesive.

for the ensolite and adhesive it comes to 100 bucks with shipping.

is it really worth it?

You already said road noise wasn't a big problem for you.
The stuff works. Not night and day difference, but it reduces outside noises. How effective it would be for you specifically we can only guess, and if its worth it or not only you know. All we can do is tell you what the stuff does. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yeah this is true

idk, i guess i want to be 100% sure that i can get rid of all vibrations when i have my subs turned up. I don't want the outside of my car making a louder vibration with the metal than the subs are doing themselves.

I want clean bass.

Ensolite wont help with that almost at all. It will help make the stereo appear to be louder when going down the road however, as the noise floor will be lowered.

raammat, dynamat, etc .. is for keeping the panels from vibrating, they have a VERY stong adhesive to attach it to the metal or plastic

open or closed cell foam like ensolite or tacmat will help with noise vibration and blocking heat transfer, they typically have no adhesive on them, so you will have to provide it.

Audiohollic, road noise wont be gone until there is some sort of barrier done, which is what the vinyl lining would do like the product luxury liner. I know you already know, but i dont want anyone else to misinterpret you into thinking ensolite will kill road noise, when it will only do some and not a whole lot comparably speaking to the vinyl barrier.

Good call.
