Engine Whine....

I read the tutorial stickied at the top of this page, but I just got a new car, came with a Kenwood deck. I don't remember the model but it has the 4.0 v outputs.

The engine whine is minor. I haven't regrounded the deck yet.

I'm assuming that I need to ground the RCA's; but the RCA's are exterior from the deck.

They come out of the deck from a cord which is about 6 inches long and it plugs in there.

How can I ground this?

Oh.. I forgot to mention.

The car is a 1995 Mustang with a Stock Mach 460 sound system. (So theres a exterior stock amplifier)

This was all installed from when I got the car. There was no engine whine with the setup that it came with. (Aftermarket deck + stock speaker amp)

I put my speaker amp in. (MA Audio 100RMS x 4) and bam! Engine whine.

I think its the ground?

Thanks

-Mitch

where do you have the amp mounted? sometimes mounting the amp to metal of the car can cause a whine. try re grounding the amp and also check your rca cables and make shure they arent near any hi current power lines.

The amp is in the trunk, just on carpet right now.

RCA cables are run along the passenger side.

They aren't near any high current wires I'm pretty sure.

It could be the amps ground....

Thanks for your response.
