Engine whine oddities

Alright so I was getting a pretty intense engine whine through my Infinity Reference coaxials hooked up to my ppi a404. I unhooked the front rca's and the whine went away. I then plugged them back in and unhooked the rear rca's and once again there was no whine. Why would I only get a whine when both are plugged in even though when I did them individually there seemed to be no engine whine?

Ground loop through the RCA's maybe. What HU do you have.

Hmm. So you plug in 1 RCA, no noise. Plug in the other, no noise. Plug them both in at the same time, noise?

Try two different sources (for example, One HU, one iPod.) If the noise still exists, then most likely its your amp's internals.
