Okay so after my system is done I want to drop a big OLE' v8 in my truck.

a couple things-

make- dodge

model-dakota 4x4 auto ***** sport package v6 I believe its a 262-269???

year- 1999

looking for everything i would need for a v8 swap (like 396 or something of that nature) that will fit in the engine compartment without "major" fabricating

and im looking at a Max total of around 8-10 grand (depends on bonuses every fiscal quater)

Can somebody help get me links everything for that swap?? you need an engine, engine mounts, a transmission, a custom driveshaft, possibly a new rear end, most likely standalone engine management if it's f/i, and some sort of custom harness to keep your truck's diagnostics happy so you can pass inspection as well as some sort of harness for your gauge cluster, a new exhaust, or at the least a custom downpipe(s), not to mention your entire suspension is going to be thrown out of whack

1.well im in the boondocks no inspection needed lol

2. ive been thinking of lowering it anyway

3. i would like new gauges anyway to get rid of stockyness

im not scared to change anything just need a little help.

this truck has 118,00 miles so i have a little bit of time to get this all together

forgot to add theres a couple dead r/t dodge dakotas with no engines in them but they have big v8's i geuss i could steal the rearend off one

there's an aftermarket plug-and-play management system for chevy 350 smallblocks.

you'd just drop it in and go.

makes it just like dropping in a carbed engine.

your best bet would be to swap in everything out of a dodge with a v8.... maybe a totalled one, or an old one, and rebuild the engine.

that's what the vw guys do, pull vr6's out of totalled corrados and mk3 gti's, cause 1999+ engines are obdII, and EVERYTHING has to match.

the engine, wiring harness, ecu, gauge cluster, and the dbw pedal assembly all have to be coded with the same immobilizer code, or nothing will run.
