emergency brake bypass

does any one know how to bypass the e-brake on a XOVISION XOD1736 im replacing my girlfriends flipout lcd so that it doesnt block the air vents but the dvd player she has is tricky i had to connect the yellow e-brake wire to a toggle switch then run a wire from the toggle to the black ground behind the deck. it would not let me just ground that wire. to watch dvd you have to flip the switch on then off then on and wait like 5 seconds before it would display.........my lcds in my truck just simply had to be grounded...I guess it veries from model to model

Sounds like there is no way to bypass this. It's toggled by that sequence.

you could try wiring it up to a time delay relay that is ran off the ignition so that when the car turns on the relay acts as the toggle switch and turns on then off again which would save you from manually flipping a toggle switch. Thats about all i can think of.

I think other ones out there have a similar timing sequence. What a pain in the ***. I think the PAC TR7 might do what you are looking for.

no im getting rid of that lcd that has the toggle and replacing it with the xovision i need to know how to bypass the xovision its diffrent from my current deck

So what does the new one require (Look in instructions)

If it just ties into the e-brake switch, then ground the wire.

I havent bought it yet i wanted to make sure it could be bypassed before i did..can they all be bypassed....I was hoping somebody that had this model would read this and tell me....thank you for answering though
