Elemental Designs... Shippings Expensive.

I just recived a email from Elemental Designs responding to my inquiry about getting a small amount of Edead sent to me. For 3-4 sqft they wanted to charge me 20.00 shipping through USPS... The breakdown is as follows..

6 Dollars Shipping Cost

14 Dollars to have the person handle the package to the post office for me.

*Sigh*

I wish there was a vendor that did ship to Alaska for a reasonable price.

sounds like the shipping isn't the problem here. that handling sux.

Yeah, Shippings not the problem. Just having the person deliver it to the Post Office to mail it.

I guess Raammat is getting all my business.

On another note I was thinking about going with a pair of their 19ov.2's in the next couple weeks. I'm scrapping that idea too since they cant help me out with 4sqft of edead.

that handling charge is most likely the same if its 4sq ft, or 40.

there shipping is slow through fedex! i hate fedex. never will i order from ed again.

LOL... What? I thought Alaska was in the US? Hell, just for information purposes I had a set of 18X7.5 Volks sent up here to me via UPS and it only cost a hundred bucks.

Only problem I have with ED, they refuse to ship subs via US postal. soooo, you 19ov.2's are out of the question unless you have them shipped to someone else then to you.

It's the issue of they DESTROY everything.

We can send you subs, but it works out to the point of you can buy it, and assume all responsibility for what they do.

We shipped a few subs once, we got no insurance out of the deal, we had to reship the product to the customer, and he was receiving what can best be described as a pancake...or as pancake like as a subwoofer can get.

As for the handling...try coming out to the Newton Post Office. It will involve someone being out of the office for about an hour standing there doing nothing but waiting for the 99 year old postal worker to finish doing stuff. They are horribly understaffed.

I wish there was an inexpensive way to ship items out to you guys in AK/HI or APO FPO addresses, but the USPS just isn't it because they'll destroy stuff/remove someone from the office for an hour in the middle of the day.
