i'm sure most of you have read my previous threads inquiring about the orion 1200d, pg xenon 1200.1, and whatever other amp? anyhow, this is my last post about amps before i make my purchase.

just like the title says, it's going to be one of those 3 amps to push my subs. as you all know the amps push out at LEAST 1200 watts @ 1 ohm (which will go along well with the subs i want). i've done several searches trying to decide, but from what i've gathered they are all really good amps. however, which one is "better"? when i say better, i mean reliability, sq, options, the company itsef, etc. i'm sure some will say there is no better amp, it's whatever fits my budget and setup. in this situation, my setup won't be an issue. the price... they're all around the same, so that's not much of an issue either.

anyhow, out of the 3 listed in the title, which would be your choice? also, for those concerned about the pg xenon 1200.1 and the warranty... it will be purchased from an authorized dealer, w/ an extended warranty. as far as the planet audio amp goes, i'm not to familiar with their products. after reading several threads on them some people like 'em, some don't. the same is said for the eD nine.1.

also which ever brand i go with, i'll be getting their multi-channel amp later on to push my mids and highs.

all i am asking for are honest opinions... thanks in advance people!!

here are some specs i acquired from their websites:

Id get the 9.1. Its gonna be cheaper than the PG through an authorized dealer, and you dont have to pay more for an "extended warranty." Youll get a three year warranty, which you can transfer to someone else if you decide to sell it.

PG has really gone down hill, eD as long as they have them in stock
That xenon sounds as good as any other pg amp ive owned including the tianiums, and tantrum amps. I wouldnt say they have gone completly downhill, but have had some problems. Ive been running their old, and new equipment with no problems, and embarasing others systems ive came across. Their sq is still, and always will be top notch.

that is if he dusnt have an adequate lectrical system. but the ed is underrated at 13.8 vdc, and like stated before, has a 3 year warranty.
my electrical system won't be hurt too much... i have a '98 yukon w/ a stock 140a alternator, yellow top, and i will be doing the big 3 w/ 1/0 awg wires. actually, i'll be using 1/0 awg wires to wire the amp as well.

Just because the Xenon may have changed their look does not mean they have gone down hill.If you look at the demographics of car audio fans most are under 30 years old.The PG wanted a more youthful look with their amps. The PG product is still top notch. Most people that are saying bad things about Xenon are internet people that have probably have not heard the amps.Go to sounddomain website and look at the people that have reviewed the Xenon 1200.1 and the rating is not poor.Remember PG has always been power hungry so make sure if you do get the Xenon have your electrical upgrade.(Soon will be installing Two Xenon 1200.1 to Two JL Audio 13w7)
