Well I have this old electric scooter that I had from a couple years ago. I just took it out of storage. Is there a way I can convert this from electric to gas? And how would I do it, if I can?

you can do anything you want.. Might not be cost effective.. you got a weed wacker motor or some other small motor?

you might want to sell it if its in good condition and go buy a motor scooter for cheap

its only for recreational. i doubt i would get anything for it, if i sell it.

just make it so when it turns the weed wacker it just turns your wheel, and wire up the throttle to where when you pull it it goes faster...

I used to sell both electric and gas powered scooters in that exact same body style, if you can figure out a way to mount the motor it is done easily, be prepared to pay $$$ for the chain though, its #20 chain IIRC and is like $40 for enough for 1 scooter w/ connector links.

If you do use a weedwacker motor make sure it has a clutch on it. The cheaper models don't. To tell try to turn the end where the string attaches, if it spins freely it has a clutch and can be used, it it turns the motor it doesn't.

Also, you will have to figure out how to make a shaft that connects a gear to the the clutch shaft. It will require some fabrication, unless you can find a clutch drum that already has the gear on it.

If you had to come here and ask how you don't have the skills and probally not the tools to do a custom install of a gas motor.

It's going to take your own research, fabrication and trouble shooting
