I need money and am trying to sell my substage setup. Well I just bought 4 EHQS8s and these will be replacing my current substage which is in my sig. Now i'm planning on giving these 8s 500watts (amp not chosen yet) maybe more if possible. I know this is all install, but lets say this in the perfect situation. What whould I have to do to get this setup which cost about 1/8 of what I payed for to sound close to what I have now. Ported...but what size enclosure and what tunning?

You're not going to have anywhere near the low end that you should have with the Icon unless you go close to 8 cubes ported tuned around 30hz.

A tuning lower than 35hz with most 8's is retarded...

That's the exact box I'd make, give them ~600rms.

Enclosure size is NOT determined by cone area.

You might as well determine it from surround size if you're taking that route.
