Educate me on horns

I heard the D220TIs over the weekend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Honestly, not that bad considering the price. Still doesn't diminish my Altec alnico boner, but for around 40 bucks you can't complain...

So how about if I ran some Whip Audio 10"s and some lower line ID horns? Good or bad combo?
I own some Whip Audio 10s sounded suprising well out the box with just a HP crossover, though I also did try them bandpass with good results. But, they are starting to screw up on me, couldnt handle the 200rms each from my Sundown 125.2, and they are rated at 300RMS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Honestly, if your looking to try some horns, Id suggest some IDs, along with a efficient midrange and a good HU for processing. It gets costly and time consuming but well worth the effort.
