alrite, ive built two boxes so far. both times i have had to recut things. he reason being is im not sure how i will piece everything together as far as screwing them together....always seems that one edge will be to wide or too long.......is there a certain way that makes a stronger box or what??? or can someone make a diagram on what way is best??? (talking about how all the edges should meet)

Edges should be completely flush, and use a small drill bit to drill pilot holes, then screw. Otherwise you may have trouble with the MDF splitting. Always apply glue in between the pieces before screwing down. And I usually seal with MDF dust + lots of glue.

use a long ruler, or what i use a chalk line. any excess is your measurment problems. and he was helping you by stating that an overlapp doesnt help. remeber its all about the seal, mdf is really strond even at tight angles, it wont make a difference if it has a 1/2 inch overlap or none at all. Your two best friends should be a sqaure and a chalk line. they are like only a few dollars Id pick one up, and use a circular saw, but make sure you have something as a guide whatever you use to cut. hope this is what your asking

Oh and what i usually do is make the box from the sub end to the back, seal everyhting, then put the last piece against the other 5 sides. kinda like capping it, this makes it easier to seal everything, since the back wall will be easier to seal from the inside through the sub hole cutout.
