ED Kx 12.......

Hey fellas I am going to get my little a new sub for his single cab F150 right now he ahs a Sony Xplod 12 (older round one 2001 model I believe) in like .66ft^3 running off a Pioneer 300wrms amp......With that being said almost ANYTHING will be an upgrade LOL...So for now he will keep that amp and i am going to get him a new sub for christmas (somewhere between 50-100 bucks.) I was looking and the 12Kx, Kicker CompVR 12, Hifonics Zeus 12... I used to own a couple compVR 12's and they got **** loud but i hade 600wrms a piece on them in like 3cubes sealed a piece and i felt the box was still a shade small for them.....Never heard the Hifonics but they look decent. I am interested in the ED 12 Kx though it looks pretty decent for the money...has anyone used these??? I will be building him a new custom enclosure for Christmas too....Probably ported tuned SQ biased.....So do you guys know anything about the Kx series???? Do they get decently loud?? Decent SQ??? Remember he is in a single cab F150 so i dont have a lot of room if I utilize every squar inch of room i may be able to squeeze out around 3ft^3........So anyhow shoot me some opinions fellas!

I have. In eds suggested ported enclosure. JL 250/1. Never got to break it in though. Cone and former separated. And I was being gentle with it.

When I questioned ed about it, the response sounded as if they already knew of "issues" with them. Totally downgraded my opinion of them to tell the truth.

Wish I could help you out more, but I never even got to hear mine to give it a review.

yours is the first that we heard of breaking......may just be a lemon....may be more...dont know till we get it back....we have had issues with other drivers so whom ever u talked to may of assumed that u knew they were talking about old drivers and how they wernt assosicated in any way...2 differnt manufactures....so...sorry if we wernt clear on that issue. fact of the matter is ..that cone can hit the rear of the basket...and can cause issues.....just like other drivers bottomeing out and smashing up the coil.......nothings perfect........hopefully u will be back up and running soon!!

Well anywho i actually already picked him up a sub....I bought him a MTX Thunder 8000, not my favorite sub just b/c i am not a big MTX fan but for the price i got it for new I figured with a goot box and his 300wrms it should do well until he can get a bigger amp for it! Anywho...anyone have any opinions on this sub??? Any box reccomendations??

I say get 2 RE 8's or a eD K (better than KX) or if you're signed up for the eD newsletter you can get 2 12 KX for like 145.00 I think or 135.00
