the focals are expensive as hell, and the EDs are reasonably priced.

The focals sound incredible, I just picked up the 130v2 for my car myself, but I got them used for cheap.

Both are great sets, get the one that goes with your wallet best, either way you will be happy.

 
Wow.... are ED components CDT's with a different badge? The tweeters look the same and have a logo in the same place, and the crossovers look exactly the same too...

 
CDT makes them for eD, tailored to eD's likings. theyre similar to the HD series IIRC.
The eDi 6000s are loosely based on the cdt classic series. The eDi 6500s are loosely based on the cdt HD series. There have been people who claim the eDis are even finer sounding than the cdts. I haven't listened to enough of both to make that determination, but after enjoying my 6500s for a few months, I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.
