Ed 12k or 10o?

Hey guys, nice forum here, been looking a good bit and based on many praises from the guys here I've decided to go with either a Ed 12k or 10o. Single Voice Coil, will be running a 4 channel amp to go with some CDT Classic 6.5 component set, and bridging the rear 2 channels for the 1 sub.

I'm looking for SQ, but also want a nice mix of SPL. Will be using a universal subzone 3/4 mdf sealed box to get me started and eventually go with a custom enclosure.

4 guage power/ground should be sufficient for an amp pushing around 80-110 rms for the front stage at 4 ohm, and 425x1 for the rear stage at 4 ohm?

Looking at Autotek and Kicker amps(would like something nicer perhaps, but with the 10o setup, CDT, box, wiring, and autotek or kicker amp I'm coming in at just shy of 800... and that is pushing it).

So let me hear your opinions on the setup(mainly sub/amp), thanks guys.

if going sealed, the an O might get louder. However, if you plan to build a vented in the near future, then the K's.

425w for the K's or O's are PLENTY, although you didn't mention the volume fo the prefab box.

Ahh well for the 10 .86 ^feet for the 12 1.2 ^feet. Also will always stay sealed as I'm not one to go to competitions, and I play alot of rock/alt/punk... and ska or rap from time to time. Disturbed sounds so much better with bass though =).

Also since going with a 350w rms speaker vs the 450 w rms speaker I'll downgrade to a 320w rms Autotek amp.

So it will cost me about 130 bucks less to go this route. Woo woo, music to a college student's ears.

oh, you don't NEED to give it full RMS to get it working. 250W would STILL be fine. You could get amps like power acoustik or profile amps for like $80~$90 shipped.

yea elementals subs dont' need near their rms limits to get em sounding good...like i think they will keep an A under warrenty if it sees under 1500watts but they'll sound **** nice with only 900

The A's will sound nice with only 400w as well, just losing SPL.
